Adrian Barich
Adrian Barich has been part of sport and media in Perth for over four decades, and most of that time has known simply as ‘Barra’.
His footy career began in 1984, when he signed to the Perth Football Club, and went on to play 160 games for them, captaining the club for two seasons. Later, Barra became a life member, and in 2022 became the Demons’ President.
Barra became an inaugural member of the West Coast Eagles in 1987, playing in their historic first game, before playing 46 more games for them in the midfield.
In 1995, Barra joined Perth’s Australian Rugby League franchise, the Western Reds for two seasons, becoming the only person to ever move from elite level Australian Rules Football to a national Rugby League team.
In the same year, Barra began the transition from sportsman to sports journalist, joining firstly Channel 9 before moving to Channel Seven Perth in 1995.
Barra reunited with Clairsy & Lisa on 96FM in 2024, and is part of the show talking sport every Monday and Friday.
