The Scary Movie franchise is getting a reboot with its original creators, Marlon and Shawn Wayans, returning to the helm.
“After nearly 20 years, the Wayans brothers are finally giving the fans what they’ve been asking for,” the pair announced on social media.
“We’re looking forward to having fun on the big screen again.”

The brothers, who wrote and co-starred in the first two movies in the series (released in 2000 and 2001), have teamed up with Ricky Alvarez to write and produce Scary Movie 6.
Keenen Ivory Wayans, their other brother who directed the first two films, will also be involved in the project.
The new Scary Movie is slated for a theatrical release next year. A director has yet to be announced.
