It was 11.30pm on October 11, 1975, when a group of unknown comedians went ‘liiiive from New York!’ for the very first time, in what would become known as Saturday Night Live.

The new movie Saturday Night is the retelling of that wild night.

Gabriel LaBelle plays SNL’s creator Lorne Michaels, who at just 30, introduced America (and the world) to a daring new brand of sketch comedy, parodying contemporary US culture and politics… which continues to this day, 50 years later.
