The Royal Hotel is basically pure anxiety in movie form.
The psychological thriller, inspired by the 2016 documentary Hotel Coolgardie, follows Hanna and Liv who are backpacking in Australia and take a temporary live-in job in a remote outback mining town. They soon find themselves trapped in an unnerving situation (that mainly involves Snowtown‘s Daniel Henshaw) that rapidly grows out of their control.
