The first look at Barry Jenkins’ ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ has rolled out, unveiling the origin story of Simba’s father.
The live-action prequel will explore Mufasa’s backstory as an orphaned cub, his relationship with Scar, and how he became king.
Told through flashbacks, eccentric mandrill Rafiki recounts Musafa’s story to Kiara – Simba and Nala’s daughter – while Timon and Pumbaa add their comedic flair.
And the cast is nothing short of star-studded, including Beyonce, Blue Ivy Carter, Donald Glover, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Billy Eichner, and Seth Rogan, while Lin-Manuel Miranda is set to produce original songs.
‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ is slated for a December 20 release.
