Roger Daltrey is not pleased with the state of live music.
In a recent interview, The Who singer expressed why he believes ‘the internet’s ruined the live shows’ because fans are able to see the setlist before the concert.
‘I’m not gonna talk about songs,’ Daltrey said.
‘Too many people reveal songs. There’s no surprises left with concerts these days, ’cause everybody wants to see the setlist. I’m f–king sick of it. The internet’s ruined the live shows for me. Who wants to know what’s coming next? People forget about surprises. I can’t stand it.’
After the interviewer suggested that maybe concertgoers want to know when to go to the loo, Daltrey joked: ‘Why not just start to listen to the bloody show in the toilet, then?’
Classic Roger.
Despite his issues with live shows, Daltrey is currently on the road for a solo tour.
According to his bandmate Pete Townshend, The Who will ‘certainly’ tour again – he’s just not sure when.
