The official trailer has landed for the first ever authorised biopic about John Farnham.

John Farnham: Finding the Voice tells the untold story of one of our most celebrated and beloved Australian musicians.

The documentary follows the legendary story of Farnham’s life from the quiet suburbs of Melbourne to ‘60s pop fame, through incredible highs and lows, and ultimately to record-breaking success as ‘Australia’s Voice’.

Directed by Poppy Stockell, the film includes commentary from Olivia Newton-John, Jimmy Barnes, Celine Dion, Richard Marx, Robbie Williams, Darryl Braithwaite, Glenn and Gaynor Wheatley, James and Robert Farnham and more.

John Farnham was 38 years old when Whispering Jack was released, which is still the highest selling Australian album of all time.

Everyone knew Farnham could sing, but the challenge to find his artistic voice took half a lifetime.

The powerful documentary tracks the personal and public journey that has made Farnham Australia’s greatest and most beloved musical artist.

John Farnham: Finding the Voice will premiere in cinemas on Thursday 18th May for a limited season.

You can pre-order the music soundtrack, which will be available the day after the documentary is released.

The documentary is arriving as Farnham faces a health battle. He was recently re-admitted to hospital with a respiratory infection just seven months after surgery to remove mouth cancer.

“John continues his recovery following last year’s successful surgery. He’s always been a strong and determined person with everything he’s ever done, and we are all so very proud of him,” wife Jill Farnham said.
