Not even Meghan Markle can escape the effects of Netflix’s cutbacks.
Netflix has cancelled animated series ‘Pearl’ which would have been the first animated series to be developed by her and Prince Harry’s production company, Archewell Productions, according to Deadline.
Announced in July last year, Markle said the show would follow the “heroic adventures” of a 12-year-old girl who finds inspiration in the stories of influential women throughout history.
“Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges,” she said.
“I’m thrilled that Archewell Productions, partnered with the powerhouse platform of Netflix and these incredible producers, will together bring you this new animated series, which celebrates extraordinary women throughout history.”
While ‘Pearl’ will no longer going ahead, their docuseries about the Invictus Games, Heart of Invictus, will be available to stream later this year.
That doco will follow the competitors as they prepare for the 2022 games for injured military members.
