Ringo Starr has never eaten one of the more important food groups: pizza. The revelation came during a recent visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The interview began with a discussion about Starr’s new country album, Look Up and his recent reunion with Paul McCartney, before Kimmel asked the Beatles star to confirm or deny some rumours he’d heard about him, including that he’s never had pizza.
When Starr confirmed, the audience let out an audible gasp.
“I’m allergic to several items,” he explained. “With pizza, you don’t know what you’re putting in it half the time. And curry! I’m strict with myself since it makes me ill immediately.”
“I used to think you had the greatest life, and now I realise mine is better,” Kimmel joked.
“Yours is better because you’ve had a pizza,” Ringo quipped back.
Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band plan to hit the road in June after cancelling the last dates of their 2024 tour due to illness.
