One of our fave food writers has a new four-part series on how to absolutely nail the core elements needed to put on Christmas celebration… and she’s breaking plenty of rules while she’s at it.
Donna Hay says you don’t have to do ham and turkey for Christmas lunch, you are allowed to just have one.
“[Turkey] is a beast of a thing to cook, and it’s tricky because we only really cook it once a year,” she admitted, so don’t do it if you don’t want to.
She’s also reimagined the traditional Christmas trifle by “throwing out the bits I don’t like… yep, I’m disappointing people left, right and centre.”
But honestly, we stopped dead in our tracks as soon as she said “gin and tonic syrup”.
