The new Baysie Bridge beams have just been installed and the online consensus is that they’re too damn high.
The notorious beast of a bridge, which terrorised truck drivers who dared run its 3.8m high gauntlet, is currently undergoing a facelift as part of $250m upgrade.
A short update was posted to the Metronet Perth YouTube channel and the response has been nothing short of emotional.
‘This new bridge is far too high!’ declared one Redditor.
‘We will invest in taller trucks!’ chimed in another.
It’s understood the new bridge will have a luxurious 4.8m clearance.
‘I’m not crying, you are,’ was the last, poignant comment.
