From today, Mark McGowan’s Facebook page will replace its daily COVID-19 case updates with weekly summaries.
The premier’s social media page began publishing daily updates 27 months ago on March 5, 2020.
“It was an incredibly uncertain time, with a great deal of concern in the community about the future,” he said.
“We wanted to provide a single place where Western Australians could find out the latest information on the virus, whether that was the daily case numbers or advice on what to do.”
He added that while the pandemic is not over, we were now in a very different place than where we started.
Based on this, McGowan’s Facebook page would provide weekly wraps only.
The first weekly update will be posted on Friday, July 1.
For those who are still keen for daily updates, they will continue to be published at WA Health.
