The Perth Mint has just unveiled a stunning new addition to its Masterpieces collection, and it’s nothing short of spectacular.
Following in the footsteps of previous designs featuring a snake, a koi fish, and a horse, the one-of-eight coins feature a gorgeous 18-carat gold, diamond encrusted sea turtle.
This exquisite hand-set Jewelled Turtle, surrounded by vibrant depictions of coral and dory fish, is decorated with 113 rare Argyle Pink Diamonds, 57 natural white diamonds, and two dazzling emeralds for its eyes.
Each Jewelled Turtle coin is priced at $269,000.
While the Mint sells these masterpieces at a premium, they are officially Australian legal tender with a monetary denomination of $2500—so maybe leave them at home when you head to the supermarket.
