Seventy-one million is a tough act to follow.
And that’s the thing about Telethon: year-on-year, it just keeps breaking it’s own record.
“It has got to the point where I keep thinking… it can’t be done again,” Lisa told Channel 7’s Tim McMillan on Thursday morning.
Tim then reminded us that it’s never by a small margin either.
“It’s by five or eight or nine million,” Tim said. “You look over to the organisers and say ‘what have you done?‘” he awkwardly chuckled.
“I mean, congratulations, you’ve beaten it but… you’ve smashed it. Just get a little bit higher.”
