It’s one of the most sought-after materials in the tech world, and while Anthony Albanese reckons WA should be producing more battery-grade lithium, it’s not to export it.
During probably one of the last chats Clairsy & Lisa before the election, Albo floated the idea of ‘value adding’ to our mining industry.
“WA has vast reserves of nickel and lithium, the new industries of the future,” he said.
“We should be making batteries here… rather than export the raw materials overseas, wait for the value to be added [before bringing] it back.”
