A young Perth man has reeled in a huge female bull shark from the Swan River.
Kai Boyle said he was “not attempting to get something that large” after heading out for a fish on Wednesday evening.
“It was in the river swimming past,” Kai captioned the incredible pictures on Facebook.
“They may potentially be dangerous to others and people can’t get their head around how big they get in the Swan River right here in Perth”.
Kai said he had received online abuse for his original post but re-posted so he could “let people know what was in the Swan River”.
The shark was reportedly caught near a boat ramp in East Fremantle, just over a kilometre from where 16-year-old Stella Berry was fatally mauled by a suspected bull shark on Saturday.
Kai said the shark was released back to the water shortly after taking the photos.
