West Coast Eagles’ Elliot Yeo was ‘puzzled’ that the AFL score review wasn’t used after Adelaide’s Ben Keays was awarded a behind rather than a goal, subsequently ending the Crows last chance at finals.
“Initially, I thought it had hit the back of the pad,” Yeo told Clairsy & Lisa on Tuesday, still absolutely buzzing from their 7-point triumph over the Dogs.
Which was what many of us had thought – I mean, the umpire signalled the ball hit the post and didn’t seek a video review.
However, the slow-mo replay told a different story:

Yeo also pointed to Keays reaction.
“Generally, the players’ reaction is the right decision, that’s your indicator – Ben Keays and the Adelaide boys were goin’ off.”
Yeo was as confused as us at why the score review system wasn’t called upon, particularly when there was so much riding on it.
“You see it all the time throughout the season, they go, ‘look, I think it’s a goal but…just to be sure, can you check?’”
