It’s not all about AFL when you’re an AFL player – well, it is, but there’s also a lot of pressing the flesh with fans.
“I was at Spearwood [Hungry Jack’s] last night,” West Coast’s Elliot Yeo told Clairsy & Lisa on Tuesday.
“Signed a few things, it’s mainly for the kids which is great, I remember what it was like as a kid to see an AFL player, you’re beside yourself.”
Lisa remarked: “You know you’ve made their absolute week, you’d be show-and-tell this morning at school.”
Yeo agreed, that as a kid it’s something you never forgot.
“When I was growing up, I idolised AFL footballers,” Yeo continued before describing what it was like to actually meet some of them in person.
“I was a kid at Christmas, I’d be so nervous, I’d be shaking.”
Growing up, Yeo was a mad Docker fan (yep!) and it was through his dad’s involvement in the horseracing scene that led to our young Elliot meeting a bunch of them all at once. Ooof.
