In news that surprises no one, it’s more time on the pine for West Coast’s Elliot Yeo.
The midfielder’s bad luck continued over the weekend after injuring his right hamstring while chasing Maurice Rioli Jnr on the wing during the third term of Sunday’s clash with Richmond at the MCG.
Yeo previously suffered a serious calf injury during the pre-season, then hit by COVID-19, then a bad concussion.
He exclusively told 96FM that he hadn’t done his hammy with this sort of “severity, or feeling” before, which was foreign territory for him.
“The best way to describe it is that I felt like I got shot, yeah, it’s not fun.”
“I was running full tilt, got pushed at the right time, I was extending on that leg and yeah, just felt it go straight away.”
At that point he said he didn’t take another step and fell to his knees for a moment before walking back to the bench.
While he’s yet to get a full report on the injury, he had a scan overnight and will know more after seeing the club doctor and radiologist on Tuesday morning, it looks likely he’ll be out for at least two weeks.
West Coast will face Carlton this Sunday at Optus Stadium.
