Fremantle skipper Nat Fyfe has been plagued by injuries this year, with shoulder and back surgery derailing him early before a recent hamstring strain put another spanner in the works.
By the time Fyfe lines up against the Western Bulldogs in next Saturday’s elimination final at Optus Stadium, the two-time Brownlow medallist would have played just once in the past six weeks.
But what Fyfe’s time off the field has proven, is that Freo’s wins aren’t as heavily dependent on him as they used to be.
“He doesn’t have to be that Nat Fyfe anymore,” Ryan Daniels told Clairsy & Lisa on Friday.
“[Fremantle] have moved past being team that’s reliant on one player.”
