Marvel Stadium’s hit-the-roof-and-score-six-runs rule is back in the spotlight.
KFC BBL 12 playing conditions state “if the ball having been struck by the bat hits any part of the stadium roof structure, retractable or fixed, a boundary six will be scored”.
Thing is, happened not once but twice during the weekend’s derby between the Stars and the Renegades… and now people are feeling really weird about it.
Not a bad way to bring up a six 😉

How can a six be awarded in a @BBL match at Marvel Stadium if the ball hits the roof? Surely it should be deemed a “dead ball”. It’s ridiculous

6 for a ball that goes straight in the air because it hit the roof at Marvel stadium. Would’ve been should’ve been a wicket. Why not just open the roof? Would make sense right? 🤦♀️ #BBL

I’m soooo all for Marvel’s roof allowing play no matter the weather.. we’ve lost more than enough games to rain this season..but an automatic 6? Those 2 balls could’ve definitely been caught, totally changing the trajectory of this @BBL game… I vote dead ball. Thoughts? #BBL12
