A video taken by an Australian Open spectator has surfaced showing Novak Djokovic receiving messages via water bottles from coaching staff.
After attaching a note to the bottle, a member of Djokovic’s coaching team passes the bottle to the tournament supervisor who then hands it over to Djokovic. He can be seen reading the note before drinking from the bottle.

A recent change to the rules now allows for coaches to communicate verbally with players while at the same end of the court, and hand signals while at the opposite end.
Nevertheless, Ryan Daniels still described the move as ‘suss’.
