After cricketer Dave Warner made a public appeal for the return of his baggy green caps, it turns out they were with the team’s gear the whole time.
At the time, Warner said his backpack containing the caps had gone missing in transit between Melbourne and Sydney, feared stolen.
After inquiries with Qantas, security and hotel staff, the team manager found the backpack after looking through team bags at the hotel.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, it had been packed in a ‘half coffin’ cricket bag, rather than one of three bigger ‘full coffin’ bags that Warner had said was most likely to contain the backpack.
